The Saw Operator I is responsible for the setup and operation of a single-blade saw. This role involves reading production scheduling sheets and identifying the necessary materials for the operation. Key duties include ensuring materials meet quality specifications (grade, size, moisture content), performing setups according to specifications, and feeding materials. The operator is also tasked with periodically checking equipment to ensure specifications are met, offloading and stacking materials, and potentially covering, labeling, and banding finished products. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area is crucial, as is completing pre-shift equipment inspection checklists and reporting any issues. The position requires maintaining production records, checking materials and finished products for compliance, and adhering to established safety and quality procedures. Additionally, the Saw Operator I performs LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) as required, conducts preventive maintenance, and participates in safety, Continuous Improvement (CI), and other company programs and meetings.
