About The Position

The Milk Receiver unloads raw milk products for storage, ships liquid products, collects accurate samples, and maintains sanitary operating conditions with minimum direct supervision. The role works with equipment used in receiving and shipping liquid products, including pumps, lines, valves, and tanks, and follows company policies, procedures, and protocols. The position supports safety, sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and product quality.

Requirements

Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies.
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor, sometimes under adverse conditions.
Ability to verbally communicate, understand, and write in English.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to push, pull, and move up to 100 pounds and physically lift up to 50 pounds.
Visual acuity to review written documentation and ability to hear and understand speech.

Responsibilities

Unload raw milk products for storage and ship liquid products.
Collect and handle product samples accurately, including proper storage.
Understand and operate equipment used to receive and ship liquid products, including pumps, lines, valves, and tanks.
Follow Prairie Farms policies, procedures, and protocols.
Ensure safety, sanitation, GMPs, and quality requirements are followed.
Document all intake product and product temperatures.
Maintain intake areas using sanitary measures that meet federal and state regulations, and perform quality control of products.
Run required quality-control tests, including sight, smell, and taste checks.
Perform antibiotic tests when laboratory staff are absent.
Report equipment repairs needed and follow up on them.
Complete other assignments as required.
