About The Position

Dairy One is seeking a Milk Laboratory Manager to lead operations across both milk analysis (DHI testing) and animal health diagnostics. This role ensures accurate, timely testing that supports dairy producers in making critical decisions around herd performance, reproduction, and disease management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science, Animal Science, Food Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in dairy lab or diagnostic testing
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Experience with milk testing systems and diagnostic assays (e.g., ELISA preferred)

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations for milk component testing (fat, protein, SCC, MUN, etc.) and high-volume DHI sample processing
• Lead animal health diagnostic testing, including: Pregnancy testing (milk and blood-based assays), Johne’s disease analysis
• Ensure accuracy, quality control, and compliance with NDHIA, NCIMS, and regulatory standards
• Manage, train, and develop laboratory staff
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation, workflows, and SOPs
• Ensure timely reporting of results to producers and partners
• Collaborate with field staff, veterinarians, and internal teams to support herd health and performance
