About The Position

The Milk Receiver is responsible for testing incoming milk to ensure it meets company specifications before unloading. This role involves various duties related to receiving, processing, and quality control of milk and related products, while adhering to strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Must have basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must be able to obtain a California Weighers and Samplers license.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge.
  • Must be able to work any shift as the schedule is subject to change.
  • Must be able to learn and implement 5S standards in their work area.
  • Must be able to complete master sanitation work orders in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to learn SAP and input all information into the computer correctly.
  • Must be able to document dates and levels accurately.
  • Must actively take part in the safety observation program.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Test and receive milk to ensure it is within company specifications.
  • Receive condensed milk.
  • Load out cream.
  • Perform CIP (Clean-In-Place) on milk tankers and line circuits.
  • Test CIP solutions.
  • Change over silos and tanks.
  • Safely fill or change out chemical barrels in the CIP area.
  • Take inventory of cream, condensed milk, and milk, and report high and low levels to the supervisor.
  • Maintain work area according to 5S standards.
  • Complete all required documents and charts.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and ensure compliance with all state and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Dedicate effort to safety, ensuring employees leave work in the same condition as they arrive.
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety, and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity.
  • Attend required training, including Safety, GMP, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Monitor and take corrective actions when necessary for a critical control point as part of the plant HACCP plan.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed correctly and submitted promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
