About The Position

The Military Leadership Mentor is the primary developer of leaders in the Corps of Cadets at Culver Military Academy. They assist each cadet assigned in balancing and integrating the requirements of the physical, military, academic, moral, ethical and spiritual programs. A Military Mentor supervises, trains, and coaches the cadet chain of command to establish and sustain high unit standards and behavior essential to a cohesive Battalion/Company environment. They inspire cadets to develop effective leadership styles through role modeling, counseling, teaching, and training. A Military Mentor presents formal and informal instruction to the Battalion/Company. The Mentor is also responsible for Battalion and Company administration matters. In addition to regular duties, the Military Leadership Mentor is expected to participate in various clubs and activities, coach athletic teams, perform student supervisory and chaperone duties, and engage in other such duties as may be assigned by the proper authorities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Recent military experience as a commissioned officer or senior NCO in the USA, USN, USAF, or USMC.
  • Experience as a leader and mentor of young men is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a drill sergeant or in JROTC/ROTC is beneficial.
