Role Summary The Military and Veterans O&I Consultant is responsible for driving enterprise execution of Bank of America’s military and veterans strategy as well as managing the MSAG (Military Support and Assistance Group) employee network. This role maintains reporting relationships to both the Head of Military and Veterans Strategic Initiatives and the Employee Network Team. It supports the execution of strategic priorities by translating direction into action through project-based leadership, cross-functional coordination, and disciplined follow-through on defined enterprise outcomes. The role serves as the primary operational and project management lead for the military and veterans strategy, establishing execution cadence, managing interdependent initiatives, responding to emerging and ad hoc priorities, and ensuring alignment across Lines of Business, partner functions, and employee networks.

Requirements

  • 5- 10 years of experience within a Human Resources-related function or equivalent project and program management expertise
  • Enterprise-level experience executing workforce, talent, or inclusion strategies
  • Extensive experience leading major projects, programs or processes with significant business impact involving cross-functional teams
  • Ability to operate in a highly matrixed environment and influence without authority
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, including comfort with ad hoc and ambiguous work
  • Proven innovator with the ability to harness AI tools to modernize program delivery, create executive-level narratives, and translate data into actionable, enterprise-impacting results
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and advise senior leaders and executives, while building strong partnerships across peers and cross‑functional stakeholders

  • Experience partnering with employee networks, councils, or affinity groups preferred
  • Knowledge of military and veteran talent initiatives preferred
  • HR Generalist, Talent, or O&I experience preferred
  • Military service or background preferred

Responsibilities

  • Project manage the enterprise military and veterans strategy by translating strategic priorities into integrated execution plans, project roadmaps, and milestones
  • Serve as the day-to-day execution and project management lead, coordinating delivery across partner functions, Lines of Business, and external stakeholders
  • Plan, manage, and track multiple concurrent initiatives, including scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and outcomes
  • Establish and maintain enterprise operating rhythms, governance forums, and progress reviews to drive accountability and momentum
  • Be the Client Manager with the MSAG employee network, ensuring strong advisory and operational and strategic support for the employee network activities.
  • Develop and maintain execution standards, playbooks, tools, and guidance to enable consistency and scalability across the enterprise
  • Lead or support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and executive-requested work related to military and veterans initiatives
  • Support leadership communications, materials, and internal and external engagement as directed
  • Monitor, interpret, and stay current on relevant laws, regulations, policies, and compliance requirements impacting military service members, veterans, and military-affiliated employees; proactively assess implications for enterprise programs and initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and partners by providing informed guidance on risk, compliance considerations, and best practices related to military and veterans strategy, ensuring recommendations are aligned with legal, policy, and enterprise standards
