About The Position

WireCrafters, LLC is a privately owned manufacturer of wire partitions, storage lockers, safety barriers, and related material handling products. The MIG Welder welds metal components into panels of various sizes according to specifications, tolerances, and requirements to produce quality woven wire products. Starting pay is $20.50 per hour, with regular quarterly raises beginning after three months until the top rate of $31.46 per hour is reached in approximately 2.5 years. Employees at top rate receive an annual cost-of-living raise. This is a first-shift role working 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with some Friday overtime. The work takes place in a manufacturing facility or warehouse with moderate to loud noise, no temperature regulation, and ongoing forklift material transport. Work may be performed alone or with coworkers, at a steady pace with daily productivity goals. Mandatory overtime may be required depending on the operating schedule. After 90 days, employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance, a flexible spending account, life insurance, a 401(k), 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Requirements

MIG welding experience.
Ability to read a standard tape measure.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret standard production drawings and job specifications.
Weld metal components together into panels of various sizes.
Prepare material surfaces for welding by removing loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, and other foreign matter.
Use portable grinders to remove excess weld and rough spots.
Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.
Ensure materials and supplies are available as needed to support efficient work processes and daily productivity goals.
Detect and notify a supervisor of faulty equipment operation or defective materials.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
