About The Position

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for an Enclosure Builder / Fabricator with MIG welding and fabrication skills. The role focuses on building custom industrial enclosures for critical infrastructure projects, particularly in the data center sector. The company is experiencing significant growth and offers a chance to join a rapidly expanding manufacturer. This is not a typical production welding job; it emphasizes craftsmanship and precision in fabricating, fitting, and welding structural and sheet metal components from detailed blueprints.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of welding/fabrication experience (non-production environment preferred)
• Strong blueprint reading skills (large assemblies a plus)
• Experience with precision measurement tools (tape, calipers, micrometers)
• Proven ability to weld to tight tolerances
• MIG welding required
• Comfortable with hands-on fabrication—not just repetitive welding
• Willingness to work overtime (up to 60–65 hrs/week when ramped)

Nice To Haves

• TIG welding is a plus
• Experience with mechanical assembly is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on sheet metal and structural components
• Read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints
• Measure, cut, and fit materials to tight tolerances
• Perform full-cycle fabrication: layout → fit-up → weld → assembly
• Use tools such as saws, grinders, drills, and precision measuring equipment
• Operate overhead cranes and other shop equipment safely
• Ensure structural integrity and alignment of custom-built enclosures
