About The Position

This Welder position is for the 2nd Shift, located in Waukesha, WI, and reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor. It is a full-time, non-exempt role with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 1am. Welders are responsible for using gas welding equipment to fabricate various miscellaneous parts, including platforms, stair rail assemblies, slide gates, power slide gates, swing gates, ladders, caged ladders, platform and stair columns, main structural I beams, structural vertical columns, and knee braces. Wildeck, a 100% employee-owned subsidiary of Holden Industries, is headquartered in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The company is recognized as the largest U.S. manufacturer of industrial steel work platforms (mezzanines), vertical lifts (VRCs), rideable material lifts (RML), safety guarding products, industrial ladders, and crossovers, having served the distribution industry for nearly 50 years.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school in welding or 1-2 years’ experience and/or welding training.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds when turning parts over, dependent on the part being welded.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Tape Measure Reading.
  • Proficient in Welding Setups for Production.
  • Proficient in Blueprint Reading.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift or overhead crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Weld metal parts together using both gas welding and any combination of arc welding processes.
  • Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase size of metal parts.
  • Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal parts preparatory to welding.
  • Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting, drilling, shearing, punch pressing and de-burring.
