About The Position

Skillforce is hiring an experienced MIG/FCAW Shop Welder for a busy structural steel fabrication shop in Anaheim, California. The role involves welding structural steel components and prefabricated products using MIG and FCAW processes, including .068-inch NR-232 wire. The position pays $32–$34 per hour, depending on skill set and experience.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a shop welder or in a structural steel fabrication environment is preferred.
• Experience with MIG and/or FCAW welding.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with .068-inch NR-232 wire.
• AWS, LA City, or other welding certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and FCAW welding on structural steel components and assemblies.
• Weld prefabricated steel products before shipment to jobsites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• Position and fit metal components for welding.
• Weld in multiple positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead.
• Prepare metal surfaces and weld areas as needed.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
