About The Position

Skillforce is hiring an experienced MIG/FCAW Shop Welder for a busy fabrication shop in Anaheim, California. The role involves welding structural steel components and assemblies and preparing prefabricated steel products for shipment to jobsites. The ideal candidate can read blueprints and perform structural steel welds using MIG and FCAW processes, including .068-inch NR-232 wire. Pay is $32–$34 per hour, depending on skill set and experience.

Requirements

• Experience with MIG and/or FCAW welding.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a shop welder or in a structural steel fabrication environment.
• Experience with .068-inch NR-232 wire.
• AWS, LA City, or other welding certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and FCAW welding on structural steel components and assemblies.
• Weld prefabricated steel products before shipment to jobsites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• Position and fit metal components for welding.
• Weld in multiple positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead.
• Prepare metal surfaces and weld areas as needed.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
