About The Position

This is a district-wide position, assigned to a specific building. The Building Substitute Teacher will primarily fill absences among certified staff, but may be assigned to before and after school duty, lunch duty, supervision and other duties. The Building Substitute may also be assigned to fill support staff absences and may be assigned to other buildings on a daily or semi-permanent basis, based on the needs of the district. The position is for the 2026-27 School Year and there are 2 positions available.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Required substitute teaching license or regular teaching license (short-call, long-call, or lifetime substitute teaching license or Tier 3 or Tier 4 teaching license)
Must have worked as a licensed teacher in a full-time, long-term substitute, building substitute, or daily substitute capacity for at least 60 student contact days in the STMA School District during the 2025-2026 school year to be eligible for the higher level of pay.
