About The Position

Creative STEAM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit learning center that operates outside the traditional educational model. They focus on real, hands-on learning in small groups where each student is known and challenged. Teachers are central to their mission of building well-rounded individuals.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree.
• Possess a valid CA Multi-Subject Teaching Credential.
• Demonstrate genuine energy and passion for teaching middle schoolers.
• Ability to connect academic concepts (fractions, novels, grammar) to real-world applications (budgeting, dilemmas, self-expression).
• Thrive in a screen-free environment, relying on connection, creativity, and dialogue.
• Communicate openly with students, families, and colleagues.
• Understand child development and exhibit patience, structure, and warmth.

Responsibilities

• Design curriculum that connects real-world skills to ELA and Math.
• Assess each learner's academic and social standing to meet them where they are.
• Utilize hands-on methods, movement, and projects for memorable learning experiences.
• Weave in social-emotional learning and essential life skills for navigating the real world.
• Track student progress, assess, and adjust teaching strategies, celebrating milestones.
• Partner with parents and staff to support student growth beyond academics.
