About The Position

Amethod Public Schools (AMPS) is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join their instructional team as a STEM Teacher for the 26/27 SY. This teacher will be responsible for teaching 2 periods of Science and 2 periods of Math. Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage student behavior and create a positive learning environment.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Establish clear and consistent classroom procedures and routines.
  • Resolve student conflicts effectively.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum.
  • Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies.
  • Grade assignments and student work.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide individualized support.
  • Develop and administer formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students.
  • Identify and address student academic and social-emotional needs.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Conduct regular parent-teacher calls and conferences.
  • Utilize effective communication channels to keep parents and families informed.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Communicate professionally with administrators and stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other Science teachers.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings.
  • Stay current on best practices in education and child development.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks such as taking attendance, collecting and distributing homework, enforcing dress code, and maintaining classroom organization.
  • Oversee student safety and well-being during class time, recess, and lunch periods.
  • Enforce school rules and procedures consistently.
  • Be familiar with and follow school emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
