About The Position
Prelude Prep is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in Pre-K through 8th grade in San Antonio. We are seeking a Middle School Science Teacher who is passionate about helping students understand how the world works through observation, investigation, and critical thinking. Whether you are an experienced educator or someone with a strong background in science, engineering, healthcare, technology, research, or a related field, we are looking for someone who believes students can achieve at high levels and is excited to help them get there. The ideal candidate values strong relationships, maintains high expectations, and understands that science is more than memorizing facts. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Eligibility to work in the United States

Nice To Haves
- Texas teaching certification in Science
- Previous classroom teaching experience
- Experience working with middle school students
- Background in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, engineering, healthcare, technology, research, or a related field
- Experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, leading youth programs, or working with children in another setting
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned science instruction
- Guide students through investigations, experiments, and scientific discussions
- Help students analyze data, draw conclusions, and support their thinking with evidence
- Create a structured classroom environment where students are challenged to think critically and ask meaningful questions
- Use student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction
- Build strong relationships with students and families
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve outcomes for students
- Participate actively in coaching, planning, and professional development
- Contribute positively to the culture and mission of the school
