About The Position

The Rivers School, a co-ed independent day school serving grades 6-12 in Weston, MA, is seeking dynamic and innovative professionals to join its community. This full-time Middle School Science position, commencing in the 2026-27 school year, involves teaching four classes, co-advising a group of middle school students, and contributing to the school’s co-curricular program through coaching or club advising. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative educator passionate about teaching middle school, committed to professional development and inquiry-based learning. Essential qualities include a team-first attitude, genuine care for student well-being, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to the school’s DEI mission. The role requires collaboration with colleagues to develop the department’s curriculum and pedagogy.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience teaching biology, chemistry, and/or Earth science, preferably at the middle school level
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related subject
  • Ability and desire to collaborate effectively with colleagues

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to professional development and personal growth as a teacher of science and inquiry-based learning
