About The Position

Southern Highlands Preparatory School is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to join their team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of educational best practices and age-appropriate instruction
  • Excellent communication, instructional, and classroom management skills
  • Creative, energetic, and well-organized educator with high ethical standards
  • Genuine passion for teaching and supporting student growth
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Often carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend.
  • Regularly hear and use clear vision with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid teaching certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and distribute educational materials such as notes, summaries, assignments, and assessments.
  • Assess student progress, provide timely feedback and grades, and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and positive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student success.
  • Participate actively in school meetings, events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Plan and facilitate dynamic educational activities both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Address student behavioral concerns promptly and compassionately, reporting serious concerns as needed.
