About The Position

The JOB GOAL is to provide leadership in developing and maintaining the best possible educational system and service. Requirements

  • Must be certified in the State of Arizona as a principal and have all the coursework required to carry out the responsibilities fully and effectively.
  • Arizona SEI Endorsement required (or must obtain within the first year).
  • Must have a proven successful employment record.

Nice To Haves

  • An understanding and familiarity with Navajo/Hopi education and the particular situation, circumstances, and problems that are involved is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises instruction.
  • Develops assessment and accountability systems to monitor student progress.

  • Promotes the use of the most effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning.
  • Monitors and evaluates the impact of the instructional program.
  • Ensures management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
  • Monitors and evaluates the management and operational systems.
  • Obtains, allocates, aligns, and efficiently utilizes human, fiscal, and technological resources.
  • Promotes and protects the welfare and safety of students and staff.
  • Develops the capacity for distributed leadership.
  • Ensures teacher and organizational time is focused to support quality instruction and student learning.
  • Collaborates with faculty and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.
  • Collects and analyzes data and information pertinent to the educational environment.
  • Promotes understanding, appreciation, and use of the community’s diverse cultural, social, and intellectual resources.
