About The Position

Richfield Public School Academy, a charter school in Flint, is hiring a Middle School Math Teacher for the 26/27 school year. This role is within a 'Leader in Me' school environment, which focuses on developing student leaders who excel both academically and behaviorally. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with a diverse student population, employ a creative and flexible classroom management approach, and be dedicated to teaching all students with the philosophy of 'Live to Learn, Learn to Lead'. The school offers a supportive environment with a Teacher Mentor Program, professional goal setting in conjunction with administration, and collaborative Professional Learning Communities. Special Needs students are integrated and supported by an exceptional staff. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to create engaging lesson plans, foster a love for math, and provide instruction tailored to diverse learning needs.

Requirements

  • Must have teacher certification and endorsement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
  • Strong knowledge of math curriculum and state standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive math lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Supervision of multiple students at once.
