About The Position

Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher for a full-time, in-person position at one of their campuses. RMP is a network of college-preparatory schools focused on democratizing college access for historically marginalized students. The role involves creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that promotes problem-solving, mathematical discourse, conceptual understanding, and fluency with grade-level knowledge and skills aligned with Common Core Math Standards. Teachers are expected to foster a culture where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities and students are encouraged to take academic risks. This position is integral to the educational team, requiring collaboration with coaches and peers to ensure student academic success through the implementation of the RMP Math Academic Program & Resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject)
  • Within the first year of employment, complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) - 45 contact hours.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Confirm identity and employment eligibility using E-Verify.

Responsibilities

  • Create an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes problem-solving, math discourse, conceptual understanding, and fluency with grade-level knowledge and skills.
  • Challenge students with tasks that encourage deep thinking and active problem-solving, allowing them to lead their learning.
  • Encourage multiple solution strategies for math problems.
  • Incorporate strategies that promote conceptual understanding and procedural fluency with grade-level math topics.
  • Implement network math intervention strategies based on student data to support students with unfinished learning.
  • Take ownership of student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, and ensuring all scholars grow through strong planning, rigorous teaching, and timely re-teaching.
  • Build inclusive, relationship-centered classrooms by implementing proactive routines, culturally responsive practices, and consistent communication with families.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives.
  • Support daily operations to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Model RMP’s PEAK values in all interactions.
  • Remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
