About The Position

Beagle Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The coach will teach basketball fundamentals, foster teamwork, and promote a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position requires a commitment to developing players both on and off the court and ensuring a rewarding experience for all participants.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the game.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff in a collaborative environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification before the season starts.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
• Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and meetings.
• Passion for youth sports and commitment to student-athletes’ personal and athletic development.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience coaching basketball at the middle school level or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Organize and conduct daily practices in a safe and productive environment.
• Coach the team during games, providing strategic guidance and support to players.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing respect, discipline, and cooperation.
• Communicate with players, parents, and school administration about team expectations, schedules, and progress.
• Monitor players’ academic performance and encourage balance between athletics and academics.
• Assist in recruiting and managing team volunteers, including assistant coaches and scorekeepers.
• Attend scheduled games, practices, and team meetings throughout the season.
• Ensure compliance with school and league policies, including safety protocols and eligibility requirements.
• Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
