About The Position

The Middle School Diving Coach is responsible for organizing, instructing, and supervising the diving program at the middle school level. This position ensures a safe, positive, and supportive environment where student-athletes can develop technical diving skills, physical fitness, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. The coach works in close collaboration with the swim coach to align training schedules, coordinate meet participation, and foster a unified team culture. The coach also works with the athletic department to uphold the mission and values of the school’s athletic program.

Requirements

  • Prior coaching experience in diving or competitive swimming, preferably at the middle school or high school level.
  • Knowledge of diving techniques, safety protocols, and training methods appropriate for adolescent athletes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment to promoting academic achievement, teamwork, respect, and personal growth among athletes.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and concussion awareness preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and conduct diving practices focusing on skill development, safety, and conditioning.
  • Supervise student-athletes during all team activities, ensuring a positive and safe environment.
  • Develop meet lineups and provide technical coaching during competitions.
  • Communicate effectively with the head swim coach, athletic director, parents, and student-athletes regarding schedules, expectations, and progress.
  • Maintain compliance with school, district, and league athletic policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
