About The Position

Women's Swimming is searching for a Diving Coach. The coach will be responsible for establishing and upholding acceptable standards of behavior and conduct for student-athletes, with disciplinary action enforced for non-compliance. Key duties include recruiting, developing, and retaining talented student-athletes to ensure successful competition at conference, regional, and national levels. The coach will also encourage student-athletes to achieve their highest academic potential, maintain satisfactory progress towards their degrees for eligibility, and graduate. This role requires dedicating reasonable efforts to coaching duties as assigned by the Head Coach, developing a comprehensive diving program aligned with the overall philosophy of the program and institution, and representing the University with dignity, integrity, and strength of character. The coach must respect the rights and dignity of each student-athlete, be sensitive to diversity issues, and maintain competency in compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and rules (state, federal, university, conference, and NCAA). This includes reporting any known violations to the Director of Athletics. Additional responsibilities include passing the NCAA coaches certification test, maintaining current safety training certifications, attending mandatory NCAA compliance meetings, submitting compliance forms promptly, and upholding all academic standards and policies of UNH. Other duties will be assigned by the Head Coach Swimming & Diving.

Requirements

  • Pass the NCAA coaches certification test.
  • Maintain current safety training certifications as required by the athletic department.
  • Attend all mandatory NCAA compliance meetings and submit all compliance forms in a timely fashion.
  • Observe and uphold all academic standards, requirements, and policies of UNH.

Responsibilities

  • Make clear to student-athletes the acceptable standards of behavior and expectations for conduct, and enforce disciplinary action when standards are not observed.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain athletically talented student-athletes to compete successfully within the Conference, regionally and/or nationally.
  • Encourage student-athletes to perform to their highest academic potential, achieve satisfactory progress toward degree to remain eligible, and graduate.
  • Devote reasonable efforts to performing the coaching duties stated herein and as assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program specific to divers within the parameters of the overall philosophy of the program and institution.
  • Represent the University on the highest professional level with dignity, integrity, and strength of character.
  • Respect the rights and dignity of each student-athlete, and be sensitive to diversity issues.
  • Maintain competency with respect to knowledge of and compliance with state and federal laws, university policies/regulations, Conference rules/policies, and NCAA rules, and report to the Director of Athletics your knowledge of any violation of NCAA, conference and/or institutional rules.
