About The Position

As the Middle School Services Director at our Springer Clubhouse location, you will provide a critical continuum of services for 6th through 8th-grade members during a pivotal stage in their development. Guided by BGCSF's Success Equation and proven youth development strategies, you will collaborate with your Clubhouse team and citywide Middle/High School Directors to ensure middle schoolers excel academically, socially, and emotionally. You will build an inclusive Club culture, manage daily participation data, drive recruitment/retention, and support key school-to-Club connections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent relative work experience
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementing high-quality youth programs
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze participation data to assess student needs and inform program decisions
  • Proven organization and project-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities through detailed work plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across diverse stakeholders
  • Valid CA Class C Driver's License and comfort driving/transporting youth in San Francisco
  • Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute programs for 6th–8th graders centered on Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, Community Engagement, and Job Readiness.
  • Mentor middle school members individually or in small groups to establish academic, career, and personal goals.
  • Guide members through critical educational transitions (5th to 6th grade and 8th to 9th grade).
  • Build a Club culture rooted in social-emotional learning, diversity, inclusion, and support for learning differences.
  • Ensure active engagement in citywide BGCSF programs, events, and the "Optimal Club Experience" framework.
  • Manage and interpret middle school attendance and participation data to drive continuous improvement and boost average daily attendance.
  • Implement proactive recruitment and retention strategies to maintain strong member participation.
  • Build collaborative relationships with school administrators and teachers; attend IEP meetings when applicable to support student success.
  • Prepare and submit all required program reports, grant documentation, and data metrics.
