Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Art Teacher to join our team, responsible for inspiring creativity and nurturing artistic talent in both middle school and high school students. This full-time position requires a certified art teacher with a passion for traditional art mediums as well as proficiency in digital art techniques. While Spanish language skills are preferred, they are not mandatory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with Art endorsement.
  • Previous experience teaching art at the middle school and/or high school level preferred.
  • Proficiency in traditional art mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, etc.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital art software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Wacom tablets, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and encourages creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that introduce students to various art forms, techniques, and art history.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their artistic skills.
  • Organize and supervise art projects, exhibitions, and other related activities.
  • Instruct students in the fundamentals of digital art creation using industry-standard software and hardware.
  • Cover topics such as digital painting, graphic design, animation, and multimedia art.
  • Guide students in understanding digital art theory and its applications in contemporary art and design.
  • Facilitate hands-on projects that allow students to develop their digital art portfolios.
  • Provide individualized support to students with varying skill levels and learning styles.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and exams, and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Encourage students to participate in art competitions, exhibitions, and other extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain a well-organized and conducive learning environment conducive to artistic expression and exploration.
  • Enforce school policies and procedures regarding behavior, safety, and academic integrity.
  • Ensure the proper care and maintenance of art supplies, equipment, and facilities.
