About The Position

Columbia School District is seeking a Middle School C-Team Volleyball Coach for the 2026 Volleyball season (numbers permitting). The successful candidate will engage student athletes to persist through difficulties and feel a sense of accomplishment upon success. They will represent themselves, the school, and the community positively, demonstrating class and sportsmanship. The role involves developing integrity, sportsmanship, and fair play, holding student athletes and coaches to the highest standards of conduct as ambassadors. Key responsibilities include teaching students responsibility, discipline, teamwork, effort-reward relationships, commitment, pride, and fun, while holding them accountable to individual team expectations and the school district athletic code. Academic and athletic excellence will be prioritized. The coach must build ownership, trust, and respect in student athletes, communicate effectively with students and parents, and enforce standards equitably. Knowledge, experience, and the ability to communicate expertise in the sport to student athletes are essential. Completion of Safe Schools web-based training is required as a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • COMPLETION OF SAFE SCHOOLS WEB BASED TRAINING IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Knowledge, experience, and ability to communicate expertise in their sport to the student athlete.

  • Communicate their expertise, in their sport, to the student athlete.
