About The Position

West Franklin U.S.D. # 287 is seeking a Middle and High School Wrestling Coach for the School Year 2026-2027. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive wrestling program for both the high school and middle school teams, planning and conducting daily practices, and fostering a positive, disciplined, and supportive environment for all athletes. The coach will organize and attend all team events, maintain clear communication with students, parents, and school administration, and evaluate athletes to enhance their skills and performance. The position requires ensuring compliance with all U.S.D. #287 policies and KSHSAA regulations, promoting good sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development, and maintaining accurate records of practices, meet results, and student-athlete progress.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive wrestling program for both the high school and middle school teams.
Plan and conduct daily practices, ensuring athletes are prepared for competition.
Foster a positive, disciplined, and supportive environment for all athletes.
Organize and attend all team events, including practices, matches, and tournaments.
Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and school administration.
Evaluate and provide feedback to athletes to enhance their skills and performance.
Ensure compliance with all U.S.D. #287 policies and the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) regulations.
Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development among all athletes.
Maintain accurate records of practices, meet results, and student-athlete progress.
