Mid-Level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer IRES - SSFB/HSV
About The Position
The Mid-Level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will specialize in migrating functions and networks to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures, giving organizations and business partners the freedom and flexibility to maximize their productivity while achieving additional cost savings to the MDA. The role involves designing, planning, and implementing client-specific cloud solutions, identifying appropriate cloud providers, ensuring the cloud network is properly sized and responsive to user demands, and scaling cloud services to serve growing demands. The engineer will liaise with business owners and/or stakeholders to determine growth plans, monitor usage of the cloud network, implement effective security strategies, and ensure fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and failover capabilities. Additionally, the position requires ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines, building infrastructure automation for rapid delivery of system and application updates, and carrying out testing and fine-tuning for optimal efficiency. The successful candidate will provide architectural vision, strategy & roadmap and work with Engineers and Platform Operations staff to operationalize technology solutions.
Requirements
- Must have 1, or more, years of directly related experience
- Must understand cloud delivery models (IAAS, SAAS, PAAS)
- Must have experience with enterprise server operating systems/environments (i.e. RHEL 7 and/or 8; Windows Server 2019 and/or higher)
- Must have experience with implementing Cybersecurity best practices
- Must have DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification
- Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Nice To Haves
- AZURE, AWS, and/or Cloud Certified Solution Architect Certification
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Math
