About The Position

The Mid-Level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will specialize in migrating functions and networks to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures, giving organizations and business partners the freedom and flexibility to maximize their productivity while achieving additional cost savings to the MDA. This role involves designing, planning, and implementing client-specific cloud solutions, identifying appropriate cloud providers, and ensuring the cloud network is properly sized and responsive to user demands. The engineer will scale cloud services, liaise with business owners to determine growth plans, monitor cloud network usage, and implement effective security strategies, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and failover capabilities. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the role requires building infrastructure automation for rapid delivery of system and application updates, carrying out testing and fine-tuning for optimal efficiency, and providing architectural vision, strategy, and roadmaps while collaborating with Engineers and Platform Operations staff to operationalize technology solutions.

Requirements

  • 1, or more, years of directly related experience
  • Must understand cloud delivery models (IAAS, SAAS, PAAS)
  • Must have experience with enterprise server operating systems/environments (i.e. RHEL 7 and/or 8; Windows Server 2019 and/or higher)
  • Must have experience with implementing Cybersecurity best practices
  • Must have DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification
  • Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • AZURE, AWS, and/or Cloud Certified Solution Architect Certification
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Math

Responsibilities
