MICU RN - 36 or 48hrs. Nights and EOW
About The Position
Salem Hospital is seeking a MICU RN for its 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU, a Level III Trauma Center. The unit cares for adult patients with conditions including substance abuse or overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day. Floating to Medical/Surgical units is required, where the patient assignment may be up to four or five patients. ICU assignments have ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity patients; floated assignments are 1:4 or 1:5. Telemetry competency and the ability to read telemetry strips are required. The role is offered for 36 or 48 hours, with a listing specifying 36 hours, nights, and every other weekend. Rotating shifts are not required. Salem Hospital is a 400+ bed community facility with 220 Medical/Surgical beds, as well as ICU, Maternity, and other services.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of adult ICU experience.
- At least 2 years of continuous work experience at one location; MICU experience is preferred in the posting’s experience description.
- Active Massachusetts RN license.
- AHA BLS certification.
- AHA ACLS certification.
- Ability to read telemetry strips and demonstrated telemetry competency.

- MICU experience is preferred.
