About The Position

Altech Solutions is hiring an AV/Collaboration Engineer to own the Microsoft Teams Rooms environment at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This is a Full-time, 100% on-site role. The engineer will be the on-site expert for JSC's conference rooms and hybrid meeting spaces. Responsibilities include installing and configuring Logitech, Crestron, and Cisco devices running in Teams Rooms mode on Windows and Android, along with associated displays, cameras, microphones, and speakers. This involves physical work such as mounting, cabling, and cable management. The role also includes monitoring device health and rolling out firmware and security updates using various management portals in collaboration with the Intune administrator. Troubleshooting audio, video, control, or network problems in rooms is a key function. Additionally, the engineer will help standardize Teams-certified hardware across NASA, set up resource accounts and Exchange room calendars, work through conditional access and QoS requirements, and may travel to support installs at other NASA centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in AV engineering, unified communications, or IT systems engineering.
  • At least 3–5 years hands-on experience with conference room and collaboration systems.
  • Hands-on deployment and programming of Logitech, Crestron, and Cisco conferencing devices.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms on both Windows and Android, including Cisco devices running MTR, and the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal and Teams Admin Center.
  • Physical install experience: mounting, cabling, and reading wiring diagrams to install and troubleshoot rooms.
  • AV fundamentals: Crestron and AMX control systems, display technologies, audio/video switching including AV over IP, and DSP configuration and gain structure.
  • Networking: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, firewall rules, QoS, and Microsoft 365 Conditional Access.
  • Microsoft 365: Teams resource accounts, licensing, and Exchange room calendars.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.
  • Must already live within 50 miles of NASA Johnson Space Center (Houston/Clear Lake, TX 77058).

Responsibilities
