About The Position

ETEK is seeking a senior-level, hands-on Microsoft 365 (M365) Collaboration and Messaging Engineer to support a large, complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and enterprise collaboration architecture, with the ability to design, integrate, troubleshoot, and support M365 services across cloud, on-premises, network, security, and third-party systems. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of end-to-end email delivery and messaging architecture, including inbound and outbound mail flow, SMTP, connectors, DNS/MX records, DMARC, S/MIME, mail gateways, and integrations with enterprise applications and external SaaS platforms. This position will serve as a senior technical resource for Tier 3 escalations and complex collaboration issues and must be capable of diagnosing problems across M365, networking, security, and integrated systems. The position also requires working knowledge of Microsoft security and compliance capabilities, including Microsoft Purview and Defender, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills to support technical documentation, architecture discussions, project implementation, and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior technical resource for the architecture, engineering, integration, administration, and Tier 3 support of Microsoft 365 collaboration services, with primary emphasis on Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams.
  • Possess advanced hands-on knowledge of enterprise email and messaging architecture, including end-to-end mail flow, inbound/outbound routing, SMTP, connectors, DNS/MX records, DMARC, S/MIME, mail gateways, and integration with on-premises and third-party systems.
  • Understand enterprise collaboration architecture and the dependencies between Microsoft 365 cloud services, on-premises infrastructure, networking, identity/security services, SaaS platforms, vendors, and other enterprise applications.
  • Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting and escalation support for complex Exchange Online, Teams, email, M365 application, connectivity, configuration, and integration issues.
  • Lead and support technical integration efforts between Microsoft 365 and non-M365 applications, cloud/SaaS platforms, vendors, and enterprise systems.
  • Possess sufficient networking expertise to diagnose collaboration service connectivity and performance issues, identify likely root causes, and effectively coordinate troubleshooting with network and infrastructure SMEs.
  • Possess hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities, including Microsoft Purview, Defender, Conditional Access, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), eDiscovery, Audit, retention policies, records management, and information governance.
  • Lead projects implementing new M365 features, services, integrations, and architectural changes within a large enterprise environment.
  • Use PowerShell and other M365 administrative and automation tools to troubleshoot issues, automate repeatable tasks, monitor services, and support enterprise administration.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, configuration documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and other technical artifacts.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical teams, management, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
