Requirements

TS/SCI clearance with polygraph adjudication or active TS with the ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in a field of study applicable to the position with 8+ years of relevant experience. Additional 4 years experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
A minimum 8 years of experience with SQL Server database administration
Active Security+ (DoD 8570 Baseline certification for IAT Level 2)
Experience and knowledge in realm of DOD policies, best practices, and industry standards for database administration
Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating System
Experience in upgrading major database instances

Nice To Haves

Ability to design, develop, and document technical solutions, standard operating procedures, and change requests.
Experience with capacity planning, utilization, and performance monitoring (Index, Table, Queries, and Stored procedures).
Familiar with writing SQL queries to generate system data reports, modify data as necessary, etc.
Experience in database design and development
Experience architecting, designing, developing, and managing databases using relational databases

Responsibilities

Perform database administration activities, including the installation and maintenance of database management software, and the design and implementation of predictive analysis.
Configure, provision, operate, and administer database management systems and related software, as well as backend storage server and hardware platforms.
Design, install, monitor, maintain, and fine-tune production databases while ensuring high data availability.
Contribute to the development and implementation of database policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and availability, including software updates.
Collaborate closely with the development, business, and operations teams to ensure the security and confidentiality of data.
Take ownership of the availability, reliability, and integrity of business data stored in production databases.
Install, configure, and maintain database management systems according to project requirements.
Perform regular backups of all databases to ensure data integrity and availability.
Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access control and encryption.
Monitor database performance and optimize queries and indexes for improved efficiency.
Handle database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
Collaborate with other teams, such as application developers and system administrators, to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Implement Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
Work closely with system admins and ISSO on application upgrades, documentation and STIG remediation.
