Internal Microsoft Solutions Architect (PT/MT)
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Solutions Architect to design, deploy, and deliver enterprise Digital Workplace solutions. The role serves as a subject matter expert across Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune/Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Purview, supporting enterprise clients through solution design, project delivery, technical oversight, and consulting engagements. The position combines technical expertise with communication, leadership, and client relationship management. The architect will lead complex client engagements, oversee project teams and deliverables, conduct customer-facing workshops, and support project scoping and business development. The role is remote, with occasional onsite travel as needed, requires availability during PST or MST business hours, and has a minimum commitment of 32 hours per week. It is a three-month W2 contract with potential for extension.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in Microsoft environment architecture and solution design across on-premises and cloud-based services.
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions for Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Purview.
- Proven client-facing consulting experience, including direct interaction with technical and executive stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Exchange Online, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory, Microsoft security and compliance, and endpoint management.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Experience supporting, administering, and architecting on-premises and cloud-based environments supporting 1,000 or more concurrent users.
- Ability to perform non-cloud technical work, including configuring on-premises Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory and Certificate Services.
- Strong understanding of the broader Microsoft technology stack.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate business, operational, and financial objectives into effective technical solutions.
- At least one certification from each category: Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate or Endpoint Administrator Associate; and Microsoft Information Security Administrator Associate or Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage teams, provide project oversight, and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations, adapt communication style to different audiences, and work independently with minimal management oversight.
- Commitment to timely communication and meeting project deliverables.
- Comfort participating in extended client and project meetings.
- Availability during PST or MST business hours.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Windows 365 or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with third-party Microsoft ecosystem solutions such as Quest, ShareGate, or BitTitan.
- Bachelor's degree; relevant technical certifications and professional experience may also be considered.
- Recommended certifications: Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate, Microsoft Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate, and Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert.
- Residence in a Western state is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, design, and implement Digital Workplace solutions across Microsoft technologies.
- Design and deploy solutions using Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune/Endpoint Manager, Teams, and Purview.
- Deliver customer-facing workshops covering Microsoft 365 Copilot, Security, Data Governance, and Teams.
- Lead large and complex engagements, manage client relationships, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical oversight to project teams, identify delivery gaps, support escalations, and keep projects on track.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, IT managers, and executive stakeholders.
- Support project scoping and, as needed, develop and present Statements of Work (SOWs) and Service Orders.
- Coach and mentor team members and contribute to their professional development.
- Review and contribute to engagement deliverables and work products.
- Collaborate with presales teams to scope engagements, define timelines, and develop proposal content.
- Identify opportunities for additional client services and collaborate with sales teams to support business growth.
- Contribute to presentations, industry events, marketing initiatives, and technical thought leadership.
- Develop best practices, reference architectures, and technical resources to enhance team capabilities.
