About The Position

SimIS, Inc. is seeking a team member to configure, develop, test, deploy, document, administer, troubleshoot, and improve SharePoint and Power Platform solutions in direct collaboration with operational users. SimIS seeks a Microsoft 365 & Power Platform Developer/Administrator to provide hands-on Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Power Platform development and administration support to digitize work, information flows, collaboration, data collection, and recurring business processes across approved Microsoft environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 5 years of recent experience in at least two of the following areas: Microsoft SharePoint administration or development; Microsoft Power Apps development; Microsoft Power Automate development; Microsoft 365 business-process digitization.
  • Recent End-to-End Hands-On Microsoft Solution Delivery: Candidate’s resume must demonstrate two years of experience personally developing and deploying Microsoft 365 or Power Platform solutions and must identify at least one personally developed solution used by an identified user group as part of an active business process within the last eighteen months.
  • SharePoint Administration and Information Architecture: Candidate’s resume must demonstrate at least two years of recent hands-on experience personally administering, configuring, developing, or sustaining Microsoft SharePoint environments supporting active user groups. The candidate shall demonstrate hands-on experience with permissions or access controls; information architecture or content-type and metadata design; site configuration; navigation; and site ownership or administration.
  • Microsoft Power Apps Development: The candidate shall demonstrate at least two personally developed Power Apps applications. The described application shall address multiple screens or multiple distinct forms; conditional or role-based application; and behavior reading from or writing to more than one data source, table, or structured data entity; and use of variables, collections, reusable components, or comparable application logic supporting the operational workflow
  • Microsoft Power Automate Development: The candidate’s resume must demonstrate at least two personally developed automated workflows describing scheduled or recurring execution; data synchronization or movement between sources; and document generation, processing, or routing.
  • Integrated SharePoint and Power Platform Solution Development: The candidate’s resume must demonstrate at least one operational solution that combined SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power Automate within a single business process. Each component of the solution shall independently demonstrate the application complexity required under the SharePoint, Microsoft Power Apps development tasks described above.
  • Business Process Analysis, Digitization, and Requirements Elicitation: The candidate’s resume shall demonstrate at least two examples in which they personally elicited user or process requirements and analyzed an existing manual, spreadsheet-based, email-driven, document-centric, or otherwise fragmented process prior to digitization.
  • Microsoft 365 and Power Platform Data Integration: Candidate’s resume must demonstrate at least one example personally integrating Microsoft 365 or Power Platform solutions with structured data or enterprise services. The example shall include Dataverse; standard or premium Power Platform connectors; APIs; Microsoft Graph; SQL or another relational data source; and data gateways.
  • Solution Lifecycle, Configuration Management, and Delivery: Candidate’s resume shall provide at least one example personally applying lifecycle-management, configuration, deployment, or sustainment practices to Microsoft SharePoint or Power Platform solutions. The example shall address separation of development, test, or production environments; Power Platform solution packaging or solution management; and deployment or promotion of solutions between environments.
  • Troubleshooting and Operational Support: The candidate’s resume shall identify at least two examples in which they diagnosed and resolved a technical, configuration, permissions, data, workflow, application, or integration issue and shall identify the affected technology, problem encountered, candidate's personal troubleshooting actions, resolution, and resulting restoration or improvement of service.
  • Transition, Documentation, and Knowledge Transfer: Candidate’s resume shall demonstrate at least one example documenting and transferring a SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, or integrated Microsoft 365 solution for continued operation, administration, or maintenance by another developer, administrator, support team, platform owner, or operational organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support CAPDEV organizations through hands-on administration, configuration, development, and sustainment of Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform solutions.
  • Work directly with CAPDEV process owners, operational users, analysts, managers, and information stakeholders to understand existing work and information flows, identify user requirements, and determine appropriate opportunities for digitization or automation.
  • Administer, configure, maintain, and improve SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, content types, columns, metadata, views, permissions, navigation, and other site capabilities needed to support CAPDEV collaboration and digital workflows.
  • Design and implement SharePoint information structures that improve information organization, discoverability, controlled access, structured data capture, reuse, and management of authoritative information.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power Apps applications that replace or materially reduce manual forms, spreadsheet-based data collection, email coordination, or other fragmented CAPDEV business processes.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power Automate workflows supporting approvals, notifications, routing, task coordination, data synchronization, document handling, status management, and other repeatable CAPDEV processes.
