Microbiology Laboratory Assistant Supervisor
About The Position
Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Assistant Supervisor to display leadership in day-to-day laboratory operations and provide administrative support to the Microbiology Laboratory. The position is located in Malaga (Arvin, California) and works a swing schedule: Tuesday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m.; Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. The role reports to the Microbiology Lab Supervisor. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment screening consistent with applicable state and federal law.
Requirements
- High school diploma or associate degree.
- Some background knowledge or experience working in a laboratory, preferably a microbiology laboratory.
- Computer skills and ability to use standard Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to distinguish differences in color, with or without accommodation.
- Self-starter with the ability to track and maintain project processes independently.
- Ability to maintain high quality standards with minimal supervision and bring urgent matters to the attention of appropriate personnel for immediate resolution.
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, safety information, and operating and maintenance instructions.
- Strong planning and organizational skills and proactive work initiative to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
- Ability to work daily overtime.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
