About The Position

This position is responsible for conducting routine testing of samples for the analytical laboratory, detect pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria, reporting data and investigating out-of-spec results. The position will conduct routine testing and monitoring of USP water systems and clean suite, follow departmental standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions (WI) and run quality assays. This position is required to be familiar with basic plating, streaking, media types and aseptic techniques involved in laboratory work.

Requirements

BS in Microbiology/Chemistry or related sciences knowledge.
Familiarity with basic plating, streaking, media types and aseptic techniques involved in laboratory work.
Ability to keep the micro laboratory environment and activities in compliance to cGMP, also maintaining accurate records per cGMP.
Ability to apply skills in scientific techniques and principles, problem solving, organization of work and cost savings.
Ability to comply with procedural guidelines, laboratory procedures and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished product.
Conduct ongoing microbial testing of USP water system.
Provide support for release testing of media and organisms for use in the lab.
Provide input for writing and revising laboratory guidelines and SOPs.
Provide support for environmental monitoring programs.
Perform data generation/trending and calibration procedures.
Keep the micro laboratory environment and activities in compliance to cGMP, also maintaining accurate records per cGMP.
Apply skills in scientific techniques and principles, problem solving, organization of work and cost savings.
Comply with procedural guidelines, laboratory procedures and safety procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
