About The Position

The QC Microbiologist I position includes all duties routinely executed in the Microbiology department such as Water testing, Bacterial Endotoxin Test, Microbial Enumeration testing and Microbial Identification as an example. Additional duties may include performing review of test data, ordering supplies for the laboratory and equipment/benches cleaning. The QC Microbiologist I duties will consist of approximately of approximately 90% direct testing or testing related duties and approximately 10% non-direct testing duties (data review, ordering, etc.).

Requirements

• College degree in Health Sciences plus a minimum of six (6) months experience of direct experience in a Microbiology laboratory, or Bachelors degree in Health Sciences or associated degree, no experience.
• Demonstrate knowledge and competency related to a series of tests or testing area.
• Must be able to work independently but with constant oversight.
• All work-related errors should be minimal.
• Must consistently exhibit a good level of performance.
• Excellent learning skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (French and English) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all activities related to routine Microbiology Testing (Water testing, Bioburden, Bacterial Endotoxin Text, etc.). The activities will comprise approximately 90% of job duties. Testing will be performed on Raw Material, In Process Control Samples and Finished Product.
• Support the laboratory activities by preparing reagents, cleaning of equipment and regular equipment maintenance (incubators, water baths, etc.).
• Support data review when needed.
• Responsible for ordering supplies for the laboratory.
• Support, when needed, laboratory investigations with Senior Microbiologist or QC Microbiologist II oversight. Provide support to various project.
• May be involved in procedure revisions with Senior Microbiologist or QC Microbiologist II oversight.
