Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline with 4 to 6 years of related experience or High School Diploma/General Education Degree and 7 to 9 plus years of specific experience
Microbiology laboratory experience
Experience in food manufacturing, beverage production, Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industries
Strong knowledge of microbiological testing techniques and laboratory practices
Understanding of GMP, GLP, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and ISO standards
Experience with environmental monitoring programs

Bachelor’s Degree
Food & Beverage industry experience
HACCP/PCQI Certification
Microbiologist Certification
2 plus years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, water, environmental monitoring samples, and other laboratory specimens
Ensure testing is performed according to approved methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements
Review, interpret, and approve microbiological test results
Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results, deviations, and contamination events
Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and testing supplies
Collect microbiological sampling of beverages, syrups, raw materials, and sanitation effectiveness swabbing by utilizing Aseptic Technique to prevent sample contamination
Ability to work in laboratory and manufacturing environments
Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Other projects or duties as assigned
