About The Position

MHRC Facility Director needed for a 7-bed secure unit (delayed egress, not locked) in Napa, CA. This unit serves adults with serious mental illness and a substance use disorder, or a severe substance use disorder alone (SB 43). The role involves leading MHRC licensing and supporting the County's LPS designation request. The Director will supervise approximately 15 staff, including the Director of Nursing, and may also serve as Program Director. The position ensures each client receives an average of 27 hours of services per week and requires reporting unusual occurrences to the County within 24 hours. The contract runs through June 30, 2030.

Requirements

• 3+ years managing a licensed 24-hour mental health facility in California, such as an MHRC, psychiatric health facility, crisis residential program or acute psychiatric unit
• Knowledge of the LPS Act, involuntary holds and conservatorships, and patients' rights
• Knowledge of seclusion and restraint rules
• Knowledge of Specialty Mental Health Services (Medi-Cal) documentation
• BLS/CPR certification
• Crisis de-escalation and restraint training such as CPI or Pro-ACT (can be completed at onboarding)
• Meet the state (Title 9) qualifications to run an MHRC

Nice To Haves

• Active California LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Psychologist or RN license
• Experience with DHCS licensing surveys or LPS designation reviews
• Experience treating co-occurring disorders, including MAT
• Bilingual English/Spanish
