About The Position

In this position, the MH supervisor for MPL is responsible for coaching safety, quality, and productivity by following standardized work processes. Key duties include monitoring and on occurrences and acting as a secondary first responder, verifying safe and smooth line operations through Process Confirmation, and supporting continuous improvement by coaching problem resolution at the lowest level. The role involves communication, recognition, and building capabilities among Team Leaders and Team Members to foster a productive work environment. Administrative tasks related to supervisory responsibilities and documentation are also part of the position. As a Material Handling Supervisor, you are a critical responsibility, including managing daily functions for the facility and department, ensuring proper material flow from receiving to delivery of finished products, and allocating resources effectively to cover material handling duties. The Supervisor supports the Ford Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices and leads unionized hourly personnel. The role also involves ensuring the flawless introduction of new parts to production via proactive planning and cross-functional communication, implementing the Engineering Change Process, and identifying and correcting data gaps in the Common Material Management System. In addition, synchronizing transportation of end items through the transportation network to our customers flawlessly without interruptions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in fields such as industrial operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Management.
  • Desired experience includes body shop, stamping, subassembly, manufacturing assembly, or machining.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles, safety and MP&L experience, constraint management principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) are also preferred.
