About The Position

The Mfg Lab Tech participates in programs that sustain compliance with Kroger Manufacturing food safety and quality requirements. The role is responsible for product testing, audits, and calibrations and supports safe, efficient, and accurate plant operations. The position contributes to improving plant performance in SQR and the Customer 1st strategy, provides leadership aligned with Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles, and demonstrates the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work overtime.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in a related field.
• At least two years of previous quality assurance lab experience.
• Knowledge of food safety programs, microbiological concepts, and sanitation concepts.
• Functional knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform required product tests, audits, and calibrations to help ensure food safety and consistent quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation.
• Complete tasks on assigned “If down, do” lists.
• Complete safety observations as assigned.
• Keep the work area neat and clean.
• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
• Remain accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
