About The Position
Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support its donor products manufacturing laboratory and life-saving mission. The role involves laboratory work including blood component production, labeling, record review, and data entry. It offers the opportunity to learn all aspects of the laboratory. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with every other weekend from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The position is located at 5505 Pearl Street, Rosemont, Illinois. Base wage is $18.37–$19.88, depending on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- No experience required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate data records and documentation.
- Prepare blood components through processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration.
- Ensure product quality, volume, appearance, and time requirements.
- Label routine and special components and implement quarantine procedures.
- Review records and perform data entry.
