We are looking for a Metrology Technician to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Factory Engineering Director and will be based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on-site, in factory role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant coursework preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); technical certifications or relevant coursework with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing or related environment.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting high-precision machinery and vision inspection systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to technical issues.
  • Ability to follow direction, meet deadlines, and collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written skill set.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and ability to work in a controlled environment wearing personal protective safety equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with optics and vision system programming is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide shift coverage (weekends) of all Metrology Engineering activities across multiple functional areas for fuel cell manufacturing.
  • Provide rapid response to metrology and inspection equipment downtime and out-of-control conditions.
  • Responsibilities include verifying the validity of detected defects, optimizing inspection software to minimize false rejects, and troubleshooting issues across optical, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and respond to abnormal conditions, coordinating containment actions and implementing corrective measures within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and deliver clear, timely daily reports to the team.
  • Perform routine measurements, conduct equipment calibrations, and execute Gauge R&R studies to ensure measurement accuracy and system reliability.
  • Ensure work meets or exceeds company workmanship standards.
  • Continuously improve efficiency.
