About The Position

The Metrology Engineer – Mass Spectrometry and HPLC is responsible for providing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for Mass Spectrometry and HPLC instrumentation to ensure reliable operation, data integrity, and compliance in a regulated laboratory or manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Metrology Manager and is part of the Manufacturing Science and Technology function located in Torrance and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Perform installation, qualification support, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of Mass Spectrometry (LC‑MS, GC‑MS, QTOF, triple quad) and HPLC/UPLC systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and analytical performance issues to minimize instrument downtime. Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for assigned analytical instrumentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Sciences, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3+ of hands‑on experience servicing Mass Spectrometry and HPLC systems in a regulated laboratory environment (pharma, biotech, diagnostics, or CRO).
  • Strong working knowledge of LC‑MS/MS, HPLC/UPLC principles, fluidics, vacuum systems, detectors, and associated software.
  • Demonstrated experience working in GMP and/or GLP regulated environments.
