About The Position

The Meter Reader joins M Group Energy’s Metering team, which provides metering services for gas, electricity and water. The role begins with a structured training program before moving into field work. Each day, the Meter Reader signs into a handheld device, plans a route, and visits properties to read meters and accurately record the information. Meters may be inside or outside, so the role involves planning visits to improve the chance of gaining access to indoor meters. The work involves walking or driving between properties, working independently and efficiently, and providing excellent customer service while prioritizing the safety of customers and oneself. The role is based on the Isle of Skye and involves working outdoors in varying weather, with support from a field manager and the wider metering team.

Requirements

• Be self-motivated and energetic.
• Hold a full UK driving licence; this is not required in London.
• Be able to work to timescales and under pressure.
• Be able to walk several miles every day.
• Pass the employer's screening and vetting standards.
• Provide five years of employment history.
• Pass a DBS check.
