Morning Meteorologist

About The Position

WTVC is seeking a Meteorologist to present weather forecasts during its daily 4½-hour news broadcast and create weather content for digital and linear platforms. The role involves forecasting, producing, and presenting clear, concise weathercasts that tell a story and connect with viewers. The Meteorologist also issues warnings and alerts, creates graphics and maps, reports live during weather events, uses social media throughout the day and during severe weather, writes weather stories, and makes public appearances for the station. The role works with producers to determine relevant weather content for breaking and everyday situations. Applicants should include a link to their online demo reel when applying.

Requirements

In-depth knowledge of forecasting.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
Bachelor's degree in meteorology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in weather presentation and reporting is preferred.
