About The Position

Element is seeking a dependable, motivated Metallurgical Sample Prep Technician to join its laboratory team in Daleville, Indiana. The role involves preparing metal samples for testing and evaluation in a laboratory and industrial environment. No metallurgy experience is required; the position is suited to people who are eager to learn, comfortable with hands-on work, and mechanically inclined. The technician will operate preparation equipment, work with chemicals and machinery, track samples, and help maintain equipment and support daily laboratory operations. Compensation is $20.00–$23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material samples for testing and evaluation.
• Operate laboratory preparation equipment.
• Grind, polish, mount, and process metal samples.
• Work with laboratory chemicals, acids, and fume hoods.
• Log and track samples through the testing process.
• Help maintain equipment and support daily laboratory operations.
• Safely handle materials and components weighing up to 40 lbs.
