About The Position

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Metallurgical Laboratory Technician to support continuous improvement in mining and metals processing. The role performs metallurgical and analytical laboratory work and assists with studies by collecting and analyzing samples in an industrial setting. The successful candidate will contribute to a diverse, collaborative working environment and carry out work safely and efficiently. Occasional overtime or weekend coverage may be required.

Requirements

• Able to collect samples, process them, and accurately report results.
• Working ability in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of principles and methods used in metallurgical analysis, laboratory work, and mineral processing.
• Two years of metallurgical, analytical laboratory, or engineering technician experience.
• Previous lead or relief supervisor experience.
• Previous experience with LIMS software.
• Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry and supporting mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical laboratory tests, including roasting, autoclaving, leaching, and physical characterization.
• Prepare ore samples for analysis using laboratory crushing, grinding, and pulverizing.
• Assist with metallurgical studies by collecting and analyzing samples in an industrial setting.
• Perform analytical methods including titration and wet chemistry.
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance testing on process reagents and consumables.
• Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment, such as pH/electrochemical meters.
• Order and stock laboratory supplies as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
