This specific role is for a 3rd Shift Metal Stamping Press Operator, eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 52 weeks of employment and receiving a 10% shift premium. The position requires safely and efficiently operating a stamping press to produce stamped parts, with a primary focus on safety, quality, and efficient production techniques adhering to NASG Press standards and procedures. A continuous improvement attitude and willingness to adopt new ideas and skills using TQPS principles are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED - minimum
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated basic math skills
  • 2 Years manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a dynamic and demanding team.
  • Accurate, efficient, & proactive in daily duties.
  • Ability to conduct basic maintenance or mechanical activities as required.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace.
  • Accountable - teachable - approachable
  • Ability to learn, make decisions, and be creative & flexible.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand up for a minimum of 8 hours.

  • Prefer previous experience in an assembly / manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate a stamping press producing stamped parts.
  • Keep station clean and orderly (5-S as a PRIORITY).
  • Initiate press start-up and adjust as required after a set-up.
  • Changeover & Set-up of stamping dies and presses.
  • Adjust process parameters as dictated from the Die Set-up sheet.
  • Set-up and adjust auxiliary equipment as required: coil feeders, straighteners, etc.
  • Perform Part Inspection per Inspection Instructions, including visual inspections.
  • Report updated information from Die Set-up sheets to Leaders as needed.
  • Verify production schedule using the Shop Edge system.
  • Report all quality, production or safety problems to the Team Leader.
  • Perform & maintain 5-S standards in area of responsibility.
  • Suggest methods of improvement (continuous improvement plan & performance award program).
  • Be available for overtime as required.
